Strategic Objective

To increase rankings in the Maps section of a Google Search for Jeweler and Diamond Keywords in San Diego, CA so customers can find their location and navigate to their business.

Initial Insight

Initially, David & Sons had a couple of keywords on the first page of a Local Search, but were losing ground to their competitors as time passed. They relocated, which caused another drop in their local rankings. We identified that their business required extensive citation updating in order to regain first page rankings.

Direction

In order to compete in San Diego, we utilized the latest local search optimization tactics, and continued to adapt to the various updates to the local system.  We converted their listing from a Google Places listing, to a Google + Business page, and more recently managed their listing with the “Google My Business” Dashboard. We utilized various strategies of on-site optimization, such as schema markups and publisher linking. We also extensively audited their citations, and corrected and NAP inconsistencies across the web.

Results

The results are very impressive. Out of the 20 keywords we are tracking locally, they are ranking for 18. Considering how competitive the jewelry industry is online, especially in San Diego, David & Sons Fine Jewelers is dominating the local rankings.
