Unfortunately there are companies in this industry whose sole lead generation technique is to send out these emails to get you to quit your current campaign and start a new one with them. Look at the metrics they are using to judge the site and then compare them to client goals. They often don’t match up and the client sees that this is nothing more than clever email spam.
