[box type="shadow"]All of the new changes that were introduced in the F8 conference on September 22nd, 2011 can be a bit overwhelming. One of the most intriguing features that was introduced was the new ‘Timeline’. The Facebook Timeline will allow Facebook users to customize and sort their social information through a standardized measurement of of dates… otherwise known as a timeline.
In the days following the conference there have been some great examples and spoofs that have tried to grasp the concept a bit further. Some of the most interesting mock ups and designs have been done by the New York agency Skinny. Here are a couple of their big brand pages including McDonalds’ timeline on Facebook and the New York Yankees’ timeline on Facebook.
Whether or not Facebook’s users are able to grasp the new concepts of what seem to be ever-changing, one thing that Facebook hit the nail on the head with was the aesthetically pleasing simple way to organize events through time. Keep your eyes open for the timeline and make sure your social media marketing is keeping up with the times.[/box]
