When can you verify Google Places by phone?

[box type="shadow"]According to Google Places and the official statements of Google, the only time a business can verify their location into Google Maps and Google Places is

“if you see an existing listing on Google Maps that is NOT verified, and you want to verify it, you’ll have the option to use your business phone.”

This means that if your business was never scraped by Google or picked up through their screening process you must create a brand new listing.  When your address does not currently exist on Google Maps, the only option to verify is by mailing a postcard.  The Google Verification Postcard usually takes about 10 days to reach your business.[/box]
